Drilling Down Into Decom

We’re pleased to be attending the OEUK Offshore Decommissioning Conference from 20th - 22nd November 2023 at the Fairmont Hotel in St Andrews – join us at stand 25. The event will feature networking receptions, dinners, a gala awards ceremony and an exhibition. The theme of this year’s conference is one of delivering decommissioning: sharing opportunities, ideas, successes, challenges and lessons to explore how operators, regulators and the supply chain can collaborate to support safe, efficient and effective practices.

Drop by and you’ll hear all about our 16-acre onshore decommissioning and metal recycling site at Birchwood in Aberdeenshire. It’s an all-in-one processing facility to handle every element of your material handling needs – the only one of its kind in Northern Scotland. It benefits from an on-site 50,000kg weighbridge and pipe washing and storage area, and includes a closed loop drainage system, with primary and secondary interceptor tanks and water storage. We have in-house radiation protection supervisors, and all relevant staff have undergone NORM awareness training.

Our full waste management license enables us to receive all manner of subsea material, encompassing concrete mattresses, pipes, cables, umbilicals, structures, rigid pipe, flexibles and general debris. We also possess a modular (EASR) permit for the safe handling of hazardous and contaminated materials, and hold accreditations for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, as well as Achilles FPAL & SeQual accreditation.
